Baptist Faith & Message

® A cooperating church of the Southern Baptist Convention

This church is subject to the control of no other ecclesiastical body. This church is to carry out the total ministry for which Christ has made His church responsible. We shall voluntarily cooperate with and be a member of the Shelby Baptist Association, the Kentucky Baptist State Convention, the Southern Baptist Convention and cooperate with the Baptist World Alliance.

Beliefs:

We believe the Scriptures reveal only one living and true God, having three personal identities as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are given by inspiration of God and thereby become the written Word of God.

We believe the Scriptures teach that man was created in holiness under the law of creation by His Maker, but by voluntary transgression he fell from that holy and happy state, the consequence of which all mankind became sinners under just condemnation to eternal punishment apart from experiencing forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

We believe the Scriptures teach that salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through faith in Jesus as the Son of God.

We believe the Scriptures teach that justification includes the pardon of sin and the promise of eternal life on principles of the righteousness of God.

We believe the Scriptures teach that all true saints shall be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

We believe the scriptures teach that a visible church is a congregation of baptized believers associated in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel.

We believe the Scriptures teach that Christian Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Scriptures authorize, by the example of the New Testament church, the observance of the first day of the week, the Lord’s day, as the Christian Sabbath.

We believe the Scriptures teach that there will be a bodily resurrection, both of the righteous and the unrighteous, and a final judgment.

We believe the Bible teaches that the great commission for the church and every born again child of God is to endeavor to make disciples of all nations.

We support the Cooperative Program

Church congregation members give their tithes and offerings through their church.

Kentucky Baptist Convention churches designate a portion of their church budgets for the Cooperative Program.  (KBC CP)

Money is forwarded to the Kentucky Baptist Convention, where a portion of the funds is used for missions and ministries throughout Kentucky.

A portion of the money is also forwarded to the Southern Baptist Convention for missions and ministries in the nation and around the world.
